Liz Phair returns to 'Guyville'
This just in: Chicago rock vet Liz Phair will celebrate the 15th anniversary of her album "Exile in Guyville" by performing the disc in its entirety June 24 at the Vic. (The album, which was previously out of print, is being reissued that day as well, with three never-before-released songs and an 80-minute DVD of interviews called "Guyville Redux.") Tickets are $25 and go on sale 10 a.m. Saturday.
Phair is also performing in San Francisco and New York, but we're glad to see the Chicago date is scheduled to fall perfectly in line with the re-release. The album has been named on countless lists of the best albums of all time, but don't think that Phair has put away her songwriting chops: She's currently working on a new studio album to be released in the fall.
Will you be returning to "Guyville" with her?
