The Chicago Tribune has a good story today about Arshad Javid, the force behind scrappy coffeehouse mini-chain Café Descartes. If you haven't been to one yet, Cafe Descartes roasts its own beans and has some interesting concoctions like oatmeal latte. The story says Javid's eventual ambition is to take on Starbucks. We wish him the best of luck, but when it comes to caffeine, well, some habits are hard to break. That said, we do have to wonder why makes folks so fanatical about Starbucks in the first place? They either love it, or they hate it. How 'bout you? Are you pro- or anti-Starbucks? Who sells the best cup of Joe in town?
